Sarà perché Jens Henriksson è stato fino al 2006 il batterista degli svedesi Witchcraft, e Ola Henriksson è ancora il bassista del Witchcraft, ma questo piacevolissimo ep ricorda maledettamente l'ensemble di Örebro. Prodotto dalla Crusher Records su vinile 7", accattatevelo perché ne vale la pena. 2 pezzi, il primo veramente in stile Witchcraft ed il secondo molto piacevole, con un accenno zeppeliniano nella chitarra. Speriamo tutti in un full-lenght a breve e di pari valore (almeno) !
Is it because Jens Henriksson was until 2006 the Swedish drummer of the Witchcraft, and Ola Henriksson is still the bassman from the Witchcraft, the reason why this ep reminds darn delightful the ensemble of Örebro. Produced by Crusher Records on 7 "vinyl, get it asap because it's worth it. 2 songs, the first really in style Witchcraft and the second very pleasant, with hint of Zeppelin at guitar. We all hope in a full-length short and of equal value (at least)!

Gli Zoroaster sono un trio Georgiano (Atlanta - USA) con chiare contaminazioni italiane, vista la presenza dei sig.ri Fiore. Al loro quarto full-lenght ci propinano un platter di nove pezzi in stile metal e stilemi a non finire. Qualche accenno alla psichedelia (anche anni '80 per ciò che riguarda le voci ed il rullante), qualcosa dei Monster Magnet, sempre a mezzo di riff stantii come il cacio marcetto. Peraltro, l'ambientazione scelta in fase di mix, appesantisce il tutto, rendendolo, troppo spesso, poco chiaro. Già al terzo brano si intuisce che in questo disco ci sarà ben poco da scoprire... Trident, il quarto brano, tradisce ancora di più la provenienza statunitense dei Zoroaster che si producono in un ennesimo fluttuare di suoni, giri, e soli di chitarra (con la batteria veramente 'davanti') che stancano ben presto l'ascoltatore non più ventenne. Firewater, per ora il brano più interessante. Buon esercizio di stile kraut-psichedelico. In Old World il discorso proposto fin qui sale un poco di qualità, grazie ad un riff rallentato maggiormente godibile, in stile primi quasi-Monster Magnet. Questa song è ancora più gradevole della precedente. Black Hole è invece un inutile brano simil-trash. Odyssey II è una sorta di ballata acustico-psichedelica senza alti né bassi. Il pezzo che presta il nome all'album è probabilmente il migliore in assoluto. Monster Magnet docet. Ma è troppo poco per la sufficienza. Non pretendete nulla di nuovo dai Zoroaster. Soliti riff, solite soluzioni. La cosa che proprio non ho compreso è la scelta del suono della batteria.
The Zoroaster is a Georgian trio (Atlanta - USA) with clear Italian contaminations, as the presence of Messrs Flower. At their fourth full-length they offer us a platter of nine metal pieces and past never ending characters. Some hint of psychedelia (also as regards the vocals '80 styled and the snare drum), something of Monster Magnet, always by means of stale riffs like rotten cheese. Moreover, the setting chosen during the mix, all the weights, making it all too often unclear. Already from the thrid song one can sense that on this album there will be little to find out ... Trident, the fourth track, reveals even more from the United States of Zoroaster that occur in yet another wave of sound, speed, and guitar solos (with battery really 'before') that the listener no more teen does get tired quickly. Firewater, so far, is the more interesting song. Good exercise in psychedelic kraut-style. In the Old World the so far proposed sense take just a little quality, thanks to a most enjoyable slowed riffs in the first quasi-Monster Magnet style. This song is more enjoyable than the last. Black Hole is a rather pointless song-like trash. Odyssey II is a kind of psychedelic-acoustic ballad with no high nor low. The piece that provides the title track is probably the best. Monster Magnet docet. But it is too few to be enough. Do not expect anything new from Zoroaster. Usual riffs, the usual solutions. The thing that I really do not understand is the choice of drums.
